The Gérard Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Prix Gérard Foundation — an annual award recognising outstanding student and young professional projects in education, art, and the environment. Applications will open in the autumn of 2026.
Recognising tomorrow's changemakers
The Prix Gérard Foundation was created in response to a simple observation: many of the world's most impactful ideas come from young people who lack the resources, visibility, or institutional support to bring them to life. This prize aims to change that.
Three award categories
The prize will be awarded in three categories aligned with the Foundation's pillars. Education & Digital Innovation rewards projects that use technology to democratise access to knowledge — educational games, learning apps, open platforms. Art, Culture & Heritage honours initiatives that promote cultural access, artistic creation, or heritage preservation. Environment & Health recognises projects addressing ocean conservation, climate action, public health, or poverty reduction.
Who can apply?
The prize is open to students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and young professionals under 30, from any country. Projects may be individual or team-based. There is no entry fee. Shortlisted projects will be evaluated by a jury of experts in education, technology, culture, and environmental science.
Awards and recognition
Winners in each category will receive a financial award, mentoring from Foundation advisors, and visibility across the Foundation's communication channels. Shortlisted projects will also be showcased on our platform. The award ceremony will take place in Paris in spring 2027.
“The best ideas often come from those who have the least. This prize is our commitment to finding them, wherever they are.”
